چکیده

Aim: Urinary tract infections are common during pregnancy. Infections seen pregnancy have a spectrum ranging from asymptomatic bacteriuria to cystitis, pyelonephritis and, urosepsis. In this study, it was aimed determine the antibiotic resistance rates of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) isolates isolated urinary cultures pregnant women who applied Ankara Training Research Hospital.
Material Method: The identification susceptibility E. K. samples Hospital between January 2021 December 2022 were investigated with VITEK-2 (Biomerioux, France) fully automated system, presence extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) by combined disc diffusion method. obtained data analysed retrospectively.
 Results: Bacterial growth detected in 1090 (1.2%) out total 8923 urine over two-year period. 480 (4.4%) microbial agents reproducing culture 105 (0.96%) pneumoniae. rate strains 16.04% (77/480), ESBL 20.9% (22/105). Resistance amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, ceftriaxone, phosphomycin, ciprofloxacin, piperacillin-tazobactam, nitrofurantoin, imipenem, meropenem, ertapenem negative 15.9%, 8.82%, 20%, 11.1%, 5.88%, 0%, 0% respectively. positive determined as 66.5%, 100%, 2.2%, 33.8%, 11.5%, 53%, 12.5%, 28.5%, 3.5%, 4.5%, 62.5%, 35%, 22.7%, respectively.
Conclusion: According our hospital, phosphomycin or carbapenems may be preferred due low empirical treatment coli-related women. pneumoniae, piperacillin-tazobactam rates.

Evaluation of antibiotic resistance associated with ophthalmic oqxAB pumps in Klebsiella pneumoniae causing urinary tract infection

Background: The urinary tract infection is the secondary most common human infection. Colon bacteria, including Klebsiella pneumonia, are the main cause of urinary tract infections. The occurrence of the antibiotic resistance is a major problem in the treatment of infections. Beta- lactamases and efflux pumps constitute the major defense mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of Klebsiella pneumon...

Study of Antibiotic Susceptibility Pattern and Frequency of Extended Spectrum β-lactamases Genes TEM and SHV in Urinary Tract Isolates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae in Tabriz

Background & objectives: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common types of human infections and Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia are the main causes of urinary tract infection among the gram negative bacteria. The prevalence of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) among these bacteria and hence resistant strains to β-lactam antibiotics have increased in recent decades...

Resistance patterns of Escherichia coli causing urinary tract infection

Background: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most prevalent infectious diseases and Escherichia coli is its common cause. The aim of this study was to assess the resistance patterns of E.coli in urinary tract infections and to determine the susceptibility of E.coli to commonly used antimicrobials and also to evaluate the options for empirical treatment of UTI. Methods: This stud...

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern and the Prevalence of Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) in Urinary Isolates of Klebsiella Pneumoniae

Abstract Background and Objective: Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic nosocomial pathogen causing a variety of infections including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, septicemia, wound infections and infections in the intensive care units. Since the ESBL producing Klebsiella pneumoniae strains are increasingly causing urinary tract infections, we aim to assess antibiotic resistance pat...
